Recycling Information and Schedules

Current information about recycling, curbside pick-up, trash collection, items that can be disposed of at the Public Works facility, related schedules, news, and information updates can be found on this website or in the Little Silver Newsletter.  Current schedules and information can also be found by clicking on the links indicated or at the bottom of this page.

 


Monmouth County Recycling has published a new “Resident’s Recycling Guide” booklet.  It contains  a vast amount of recycling information and copies are available in Borough Hall and the Library.


Please Note:
Motor oils or any other oils or anti-freezes, and paint
will no longer be accepted at the Public Works Yard.

The Public Works Yard is monitored by surveillance cameras and dumping of any illegal materials will be reported to authorities.  Questions about disposal of specific items or materials should be directed to Borough Hall at 732-842-2400.


Important Trash and Recycling Information For All Residents

Bulk collection is always your second pickup of the week and includes furniture and carpeting. No more than three items can be placed at the curb per pickup and must be placed to the curb the night before, along with any regular trash.  No appliances, electronics or construction material permitted.  No more than three items per week.

Single-Stream Recycling

Bottles, cans, plastic, newspaper, small cardboard and mixed paper can all be placed in the same container. Cardboard that is too large for a container should be flattened, tied and placed next to the container.

Recycling Center:   Located at the Borough Garage on Fairview Avenue.  Hours of operation:
Monday through Friday: 8:00am - 2:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am - 12:00 noon
Closed on all Borough holidays

Please note, the Borough Recycling Center does not accept electronics including computers, monitors and related electronics hardware, also analog or digital television.

Brush and Leaves Collection:
Place brush to curb according to the schedule for Department of Public Works collection the following week.  Reminder: Branches must be no more than 4 feet in length and 12 inches in diameter .  Please do not block sidewalks, roadways or storm drains.
 

Residential Recycling - Glass, Cans, Plastics, Newspaper, Cardboard:
Glass and cans must be placed in containers weighing less than 50 lbs.  Newspapers should be bundled and tied, cardboard should be flattened, tied and stacked neatly at curb.  Reminder: Corrugated cardboard must be recycled.  It will not be taken with regular trash collection.
